Nine hours and 55 minutes by plane, provided there is no difficulty in air travel or delays. Yes, you read that correctly, meet Steven Turner, Sahara Grotto's newest prophet who calls London England home.
Following his joining the grotto while in the US for another fraternal organization, I asked Steven to share a bit about himself for our prophets at home. Steven was born in London in 1956 and has interestingly enough always been a Manchester United Fan, he still serves on the London Fan club committee, even though this is a controversial position as all of his wider family support various London Teams.
Steven has been married and divorced and happily in his current relationship for the last 30 years, all in all he has 1 Son, 2 daughters, 3 granddaughters and 2 grandsons. His Main career was in Banking and following that he was the director of a small Pub company. He is quoted as saying "When I was in Banking I spent a lot of my time in Pubs, and when I was in Pubs I spent a lot of my time in Banks."
He also serves as Trustee and director of a number of Charities. He is a Freemason, a member of many lodges and orders in the UK and Europe as well as here in the USA.
Other Civic bodies of which Steven is a member include Freeman of London, a Burgess of Glasgow, a Member of the Incorporation of Candlemakers of Edinburgh and a Freeman and Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Arts Scholars.
Steven does make it to the US, so perhaps you will run into him at the Enchanted Lantern down at the grotto. If you do, be sure and say hello! Congrats to Steven on expanding the boundaries of the Enchanted Realm and increasing the sympathy and good fellowship throughout the world!
